When I told Kira & Fan that their hard work is the foundation in helping people feel secure and therefore happy, healthy, creative and productive, it wasn’t an understatement. My husband & I chose them because we’d had immense success, with Kira and Winkler Real Estate Group, in selling my late mother’s home during the pandemic. I can't speak highly enough of Kira Halpern and Fan Chew. Together as a team, they helped me through the sale of my mom's home after her passing, a difficult and overwhelming time for me. They did so with utmost professionalism, competence and compassion. Right from the start, I was put at ease and reassured that they would be there for me every step of the way, and to my relief, the sale could be accomplished long distance, enabling me to remain in Pennsylvania where I live. True to their word, Kira and Fan worked tirelessly, above and beyond expectation to navigate through all the necessary steps. Whether it was scheduling inspections, ensuring appropriate documents were completed, coordinating and overseeing repairs, they ensured everything went smoothly. From painting, plumbing work, landscaping, window washing - the tasks are too numerous to list - all the way through to photography, staging, the sale and beyond, no detail was overlooked. I'm in awe of the many hats they wore in the course of their work. I quickly learned to trust and respect their recommendations based on years of experience. At the same time, they were always respectful of my input and attentive to the specific needs of my situation. Through it all, and across the 3 hour east/west time difference, I was kept in close communication, even if it meant early morning or late evening hours for them. I greatly appreciated that. I needed to sell my first house and had interviewed several real estate agents, but Laura and her team stood out from the rest. They had done a great job selling a house close to mine a year before, so they knew the neighborhood well. They also presented themselves as a 4-member team that could help with everything involved in moving and selling a house. As I knew it would take more than one agent to sell the house, it was good to meet the entire team, and I was impressed by each of them. Ultimately, I chose a team I felt comfortable with and could trust. Laura said they were there to calm my anxieties from selling the house and they did! They helped with my move (providing me a contact of another client who had advice and loaned me a large carrier for moving my ferocious cat). They provided advice on what improvements to my house made the most sense. They knew quality (and reasonably priced) contractors who could do the improvements. Laura and team scheduled the work, and were physically there for the work and inspections, which was a balancing act on timing. Unlike some real estate agents, they didn't push me into any options we weren't comfortable with and listened to me when I wanted the house listed in a certain way. I trusted Laura's judgment and advice throughout the whole process, particularly as she explained her reasoning. It was clear that Laura and the team has the best interest of her clients in mind. They all responded quickly to emails/texts/phone calls and were there when I needed them, and they kept me well informed throughout the entire process. We had 2 open houses, the timing of which was carefully chosen not to be on Super Bowl weekend or a holiday! We had 5 offers right after the 2nd open house and closed quickly, signing a purchase agreement and having a backup purchase agreement if the first fell through (it did not). They really did go the extra mile – one example is that they fixed a small problem on their own dime, after the offer was made and even though there were no contingencies, just to make the buyer happy. The close was a fast and smooth process as well thanks to Laura and her team. I would highly recommend Laura and her team to anyone looking for a realtor (and team) and would use her again!

She made what could have been a stressful experience feel manageable every step of the way. She was incredibly receptive to our needs, was always available when we had questions, and offered insights that helped us through our decisions. Kira Halpern and Fan Chew were amazing! When my sister died unexpectedly last year, and I was faced with dealing with her affairs (including her house that was 800 miles from where I live) they stepped in and handled everything-- including finding a wonderful person to handle the estate sale, working with contractors to get the house ready to sell, dealing with what seemed like myriad arcane regulations and inspections, forwarding mail and a bazillion details I'm not even aware of. And on top of all of that, they sold the house for WAY more than I expected. And thru all of that they were friendly and supportive at a time that was really difficult. You would be lucky to have them working for you.

We had a great experience working with Fan Chew of the Winkler Group when we purchased our home in Berkeley. We were a non-traditional buyer, needing to purchase a home in California while living in NY. Fan was very attentive to our needs and being a resident of where we were looking to buy, provided us with a lot of insight only a resident of the area can. We had to conduct most of our search from NY and Fan responded to our queries quickly. She was able to help us with several “FaceTime” tours which was very helpful. When we decided that we found a house we wanted to buy, she accompanied us through the whole bidding process while we were visiting to put an offer on the house. Fan is also a knowledgable realtor, and provided great advice on our bid price and our bidding procedure. We managed to receive an accepted offer during this visit. She then led us through an expedited closing process. As we were only going to occupy our home after a few months, she introduced us to a property manager at Winkler who looked after the house before we moved in. Fan even helped us with the quirky BESO process here in Berkeley almost 6 months after we closed. Fan is a true professional, knowledgable and experienced and we would highly recommend Fan Chew and the Winkler Group to anyone who has real estate needs.
