I scheduled a house showing with Ben Belack today. The showing was for my 19 year old granddaughter who moved to Los Angeles a year ago from Portugal. She was excited to view the home for her family. But not after the way Ben so rudely treated her and myself. After rushing us through the house, spending most of his time on the phone, as if to let us know he had better things to do, I heard Ben tell our agent “can they afford a house in this price because I don’t want to waste my time.” Needless to say I couldn’t wait to get away from his dismissive energy. But more importantly am still angry by the way he treated my granddaughter.

Mike Bary was unable to sell our home. Mike Bary was unable to rent our home. Mike Bary needed to involve a third party, Figure8 (who was lovely and did a fantastic job securing tenants and managing the property), to finally secure tenants. Mike Bary included a clause in the lease agreement that he would be owed 4% of the sale price if the tenants purchased the property, which they eventually did. We foolishly signed this contract giving 4% of the value of our home to Mike Bary for simply making an introduction to tenant. Our real estate attorney noted that he had never seen such a large commission for simply making an introduction to a buyer in his many years of practicing. We would never work with Mike Bary or The Agency in a real estate transaction in the future.

We had a very disappointing experience with Mike Bary and The Agency. In our opinion, the contract language was misleading, and he expected payment for work he did not actually perform. He was unable to sell or rent our home, and a third party (Figure8) had to step in and successfully secure tenants. We would not work with him again.

Highly recommend The Agency! Niko Corado was my buyers agent and as first time buyers, we were very lost on how the process worked. Niko helped negotiate a great price (we got under asking) and also obtain a sellers credit for repairs. He’s very knowledgeable, looked out for our interests, and responsive. His office team was also amazing and helped us coordinate everything (special shout out to Maria Rodriguez!!). We closed in 1 month after getting the signed contract.

I recently inquired about a property listed for rent on Redfin, contacting agent Gina Martina for more information. To my disappointment, Gina informed me during our conversation that the property had actually been rented out several months ago, yet it was still being advertised. This misleading information was frustrating as it wasted both my time and effort. Additionally, when I expressed my concerns regarding the outdated listing, Gina responded rudely and terminated the call abruptly, which was both surprising and unprofessional. It is concerning that such practices are used, as they do not foster trust or credibility.

If you are like the ancient philosopher, Diogenes, searching for an "honest man" to help you with real estate, then search no longer. Billy Rose, of The Agency, is your man. I met Billy in early 2022 after finding myself betrayed by my seller's agent.(another company) With tremendous intelligence, wisdom and heart, he set out to help me find a path through the intricacies of real estate transactions - not for what he could gain by doing so, but because he felt it was the right thing to do. In fact, as the trauma of my house sale comes to a close he has not earned a single copper penny through the time and advise he has offered me. (and that makes me sad) Should you value virtue: right action, fidelity, honor and decency, then I most highly recommend, Billy Rose, of The Agency, to be your agent.

I am looking to buy a property in LA. I sent an email to Blair Chang, the owner and partner of The Agency RE. His name and email was listed on the property as selling agent. Few hours later, I called his office. He was not there but his assistant assured me that he will respond to my inquiry. A week later and no reply. I feel bad for the sellers thinking he really cares about selling their property. And by reading other posts, I realize this business has far more problems. Michael Tuscany

I submitted an offer to one of their listings and got an email response letting us know they decided to go with another buyer. Which is completely fine. However, the email contained the history where Azy forwarded our offer, writing “Here is another offer. They are idiots”. Next time, please remember to remove/delete your history when insulting.
